Ghaziabad (Uttar Pradesh) [India]: Delhi Public School (DPS), Indirapuram, has assured its full support to the Hunger Free Bharat mission through the Rashtriya Cricket League (RCL) https://www.rclindia.com/ pledging to undertake meaningful initiatives to raise awareness about food wastage among its 6,000+ students.

Principal Ms. Priya John said the school would take every possible step to sensitise students about the importance of respecting food, avoiding unnecessary wastage and developing responsible food consumption habits.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Priya John said:

“Food wastage is not just about throwing away food; it is about failing to value the effort, resources and hard work that go into bringing food to our plates. As an educational institution, we believe the right habits must be developed from a young age. Our children can become powerful ambassadors of change, carrying the message of responsible food consumption from their classrooms to their homes and communities.”

She added:

“We are happy to associate with the Hunger Free Bharat mission through the Rashtriya Cricket League. We will make every effort to engage our 6,000+ students in creating awareness about food wastage and encourage them to take simple but meaningful steps: take only what they can eat, avoid unnecessary wastage and respect every grain of food.”

Welcoming the initiative, Mr. Arvind Kumar, Founder, Rashtriya Cricket League and Hunger Free Bharat, thanked the school management and Principal Ms. Priya John for taking the mission to the grassroots level, among school children.

He said:

“I sincerely thank the management and Principal Ms. Priya John for coming forward to support the Hunger Free Bharat https://www.youtube.com/@HungerfreeBharat . When a school takes responsibility for educating thousands of children about food wastage, the message does not stay within the school; it reaches homes, families and the wider community. Taking this mission to our children means taking it to the very roots of society.”

He further added:

“Our children are the strongest ambassadors of change. If we teach them to respect food today, we can build a generation that makes responsible consumption a way of life tomorrow.”

The initiative marks another important step in strengthening the Hunger Free Bharat https://www.instagram.com/hungerfreebharat_ through education, awareness and collective action, with schools playing a crucial role in creating lasting behavioural change among the next generation.
